A case of stingray injury is reported. Local symptoms and signs includ
e intense pain, oedema around the wound, erythema and petechiae. Syste
mic symptoms and signs include nausea and vomiting, muscle cramps, dia
phoresis, syncope, headache, muscle fasciculations, and cardiac arrhyt
hmias. Treatment aims to reverse local and systemic effects of the ven
om, alleviate pain, and prevent infection. Antitetanus prophylaxis is
important. Treatment for anaphylaxism may be necessary.
