M. Ohyama et al., PREPARATION OF ZNO FILMS WITH PREFERENTIAL ORIENTATION BY SOL-GEL METHOD, Nippon Seramikkusu Kyokai gakujutsu ronbunshi, 104(4), 1996, pp. 296-300
ZnO films were prepared on silica glass substrates by the sol-gel meth
od from Zn(CH3COO)(2) . 2H(2)O-2-methoxyethanol solutions containing m
onoethanolamine (MEA) or diethanolamine (DEA). Smooth and transparent
ZnO films were obtained by heating at temperatures from 200 to 500 deg
rees C for 10 min after each coating and finally at the same temperatu
res far 1h. The films prepared from coating solutions containing MEA w
ere strongly oriented along the (002) plane. The effects of heating te
mperature and ethanolamines on the him morphology, grain size distribu
tion and crystallographic orientation are discussed based on X-ray dif
fraction and scanning electron microscopy.
