A 28-year-old severe hemophiliac with a factor VIII inhibitor was admi
tted to our hospital with a massive and serious intraperitoneal hemato
ma. He was a high-responder patient showing maximal serum inhibitor le
vels as high as 255 Bethesda Units/ml (BU/ml). He was successfully tre
ated with ''bypass therapy'' using a prothrombin complex concentrate (
PCC).
