Oy. Eremina et al., KARESAN AS A SELECTIVE INHIBITOR OF CARBO XYLESTERASES IN ARTHROPODS AND WORMS, Izvestia Akademii nauk SSSR. Seria biologiceskaa, (2), 1996, pp. 225-233
The effects of Karesan methoxymethylmercaptomethyl)methylthiophosphana
te) on the total esterase activity esterase spectrum were studied in v
arious invertebrates (arthropods and earthworms). Karesan at 10(-8) -
10(-5) M was highly selective with respect to carboxylesterases of the
studied species. In vivo Karesan proved to be an active synergist to
Permetrin both in sensitive and resistant strains of arthropods. On th
e basis of the data obtained, we recommend the inclusion of Karesan in
the Augustinsson classical scheme for studies of the carboxylesterase
spectra in invertebrates by the disk-electrophoresis method.
