A COMMUNITY MENOPAUSE CLINIC IN EDINBURGH - 5 YEARS EXPERIENCE

The need for a specialist menopause clinic was identified within the L othian area and a new clinic was established in November 1989 within a large community based family planning and well woman clinic in centra l Edinburgh. General practitioners were able to refer women with compl ex problems relating to the menopause and hormone replacement therapy and women were also able to self refer. A computer database was kept d etailing all women attending the clinic. We report on the development of this new service over five years.
