Abstract
The effects of nitric oxide on phototaxis in flagellated green algae a re investigated. NO modifiers photoaccumulation of the cells in the ra nge of 1 to 5 mu M without changes of motility of the cells. Nitric ox ide in concentration-above 5 mu M inhibited phototaxis. NO can invert the sign of the phototaxis from negative to positive at concentration lower then 5 mu M depending on the strains used.
