State models are often used in order to simulate the thermal behaviour
of buildings. If this method presents numerous advantages for example
with respect to the management of the simulation time step, we have t
o handle an important system of differential equations when we conside
r a large thermal domain. So, in order to reduce these systems, one of
ten use the modal reduction. In this paper, we present a method using
sub-structuration and local model reduction which allows us to reduce
the system to solve. We have illustrated this method with a typical ca
se which is the evaluation of heat transfer between a building and its
surrounding ground. comparison between the detailed formulation of th
e problem, the well knowed linear aggregation reduction and the sub-st
ructuration method shows that the results are close each other.
