Abstract
We propose and analyze theoretically logical circuitry based on electr on waveguides. The circuit elements are branching electron waveguides (Y-branch switches) where an applied field gives a nonlinear digital r esponse function, giving standardized signal levels. The proposed circ uitry is shown to exhibit features analogous to those of complementary metal-oxide semiconductors. Circuits implementing NAND and NOR functi ons are shown, as well as a realization of a logical implication that only requires one Y-branch switch. (C) 1996 American Institute of Phys ics.
