The kinetics of late stages of phase separation in nonequilibrium subs
titutional solid solutions Al1-xSix was studied by resistivity relaxat
ion. The dynamic scaling exponents have been observed to correspond pr
obably to a transition from coagulation (alpha approximate to 0.16-0.2
) to Ostwald-ripening-type behavior. An essential slowing down of the
latest stage of relaxation (alpha approximate to 0.08) was detected in
Al-Si alloys when depletion developed in the Al-based fee matrix arou
nd the Si submicrometer inclusions.
