Abstract
In recent papers by Erukhimovitch and Baram [Phys. Rev. B 50, 5854 (19 94); 51, 6221 (1995)], the classical Johnson-Mehl-Avrami theory for th e kinetics of nucleation and growth transformations was reassessed. Ho wever, their treatment is erroneous.
