Abstract
Mercaptoderivatives of 1,2,4-triazole, 1,3,4-thiadiazole, tetrazole, b enzothiazole and benzimidazole were investigated for inhibition of the zinc enzyme carbonic anhydraze (CA), isozyme II. All the derivatives behave as non-competitive inhibitors, as determined by a kinetic stopp ed-flow technique. Structure-activity correlations are also discussed.
