C. Boyadjiev, ON THE THEORY OF NONLINEAR MASS-TRANSFER IN SYSTEMS WITH INTENSIVE INTERPHASE MASS-TRANSFER, Hungarian journal of industrial chemistry, 24(1), 1996, pp. 35-39
The paper proposes theoretical analysis of the non-linear mass transfe
r theory approximations in systems with intensive interphase mass tran
sfer. It is shown that the theory is valid at the constant values of t
he density, viscosity and the diffusion constant, i.e. at the conditio
ns of low concentrations of the transferred substance. Non-linear effe
cts due to concentration dependencies of these parameters at high conc
entrations are superposed with the non-linear effects due to high conc
entration gradients. A linear approximation is suggested for these dep
endencies. This approximation shows itself good enough (satisfying acc
uracy) for describing the wide range of cases of intensive interphase
mass transfer.
