Ov. Yarmolenko et al., EFFECT OF CROWN-ETHERS ON THE CONDUCTIVITY OF SOLID ELECTROLYTES BASED ON POLY(ETHYLENE OXIDE), Russian journal of electrochemistry, 32(4), 1996, pp. 468-470
A number of solid polymeric electrolytes (SPE) based on LiClO4 and pol
y(ethylene oxide) (PEG) with addition of 15-crown-5, benzo-15-crown-5,
and 2,4-dioxo-16-crown-5 was synthesized and studied. By the electric
al impedance method, it was shown that some samples obtained possessed
the enhanced conductivity of an order of 10(-4)-10(-3) S/cm at the am
bient temperature, good compatibility with the lithium anode, and stab
ility during long-term storage. It was found that addition of 15-crown
-5 and 2,4-dioxo-15-crown-5 into SPE based on PEO drastically (by 2 or
ders of magnitude) improves the characteristics of the SPE, whereas be
nzo-15-crown-5 does not affect the conductivity of this electrolyte.
