The purpose of this article is to describe the limit, as the vacuum el
ectric permittivity goes to zero, of a plasma physics system, deduced
from the Vlasov-Poisson system for special initial data (distribution
functions which are analytic in the space variable, with compact suppo
rt in velocity), a limit also called ''quasineutral regime'' of the pl
asma, and the related oscillations of the electric field, with high fr
equency in time.
