Abstract
X-ray absorption studies of the poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) complex NiB r2(PEO)(8) show the formation of Br bridged dimers and higher aggregat es. The Ni is complexed with Br and also with O atoms from the PEG. Ag gregate formation increases with increasing temperature. In the case o f ErBr3(PEO)(12) the Er is simply complexed with Br and O. There is no evidence of aggregate formation.
