Abstract
Authors Mark S. Umbreit and Mark Carey discuss adopting restorative ju stice as a mission for correctional agencies. They explain how agencie s can prepare for fundamental changes in the way they do work, focusin g particularly on the restorative justice planning process undertaken by the Dakota County (Minnesota) Community Corrections Department. The authors stress the importance of understanding what a restorative jus tice agency really is and of involving all staff members in the planni ng process.
