Hypotension as a symptom of a heart-circulatory defect is discussed. A
definition of the term includes the physiology of normal blood pressu
re and the causes, that lead to changes of the systemic blood pressure
. Special attention is given to the influence of the anaesthetic drugs
and of the anaesthetic managements taken. Finally, suggestions relati
ng to the therapy of hypotension such as decreasing the anaesthetic pl
ane, infusion therapy and the use of adrenergics are discussed.
