M. Sakagami et al., NUMERICAL EVALUATION OF EVOLUTION OF DENSITY-MATRIX AND DECOHERENCE DUE TO NONLINEAR DYNAMICS, Progress of theoretical physics, 95(4), 1996, pp. 703-716
We discuss how the non-linearity of systems affects the nature of thei
r coherence. We use a model of two coupled kicked rotors and investiga
te the evolution of the reduced density matrix rho(red) obtained by tr
acing out one of them. We observe that rho(red) decoheres even through
the coarse-graining of one degree of freedom when the system has a st
rong non-linearity.
