Abstract
Xanthan production by Xanthomonas campestris was performed in a batch fermentation study with a view to achieving maximum yields. The factor s influencing the production - mainly the nutrients, were investigated . Trace elements such as phosphate and magnesium at 6.0 g/l and 0.2 g/ l enhanced the yields.
