Abstract
Microemulsion provides a rigid environment to solubilizates. The Schif f bases with long alkyl chain at ortho and para positions in the benze ne nucleus showed different spectral behaviour in microemulsions and o rganic solvents. The ortho substituted compounds showed more structure d characteristics than the para substituted compounds. From the spectr al data, four different zones in a microemulsion medium have been prop osed. These four zones have different solvation capacity for the Schif f bases.
