The ratios of the observed yields of cumulative particles belonging to
the same isospin multiplet are analyzed. The dependences of the isosp
in ratios pi(-)/pi(+), n/p, and T/He-3 on the type of incident particl
es, on thel isospin content of nuclei, and on the nuclear Coulomb fiel
d are investigated. The contributions of these effects to the above is
ospin ratios are shown to be on the same order of magnitude. An experi
mental program is proposed that is aimed at measuring the isospin rati
os to a precision of 2%, which is sufficient for separating contributi
ons due to different processes and for drawing definite conclusions on
the underlying mechanism of cumulative-particle formation.
