Abstract
Hadronic B-c(())-mesons production is analyzed in perturbative QCD wi th allowance for Feynman diagrams making contribution to order alpha(s )(4). Comparison of the total cross section for this process with the part that takes into account only the fragmentation (b) over bar --> B -c(()) + X reveals that the fragmentation model fails to correctly de scribe Br-c(()))-meson production. The cross section for B-c((*)))-me son production is calculated exactly as a function of the transverse m omentum at the FNAL Tevatron energy (root s = 1.8 TeV). The ratio of t he vector-state yield to the pseudoscalar-state yield is found to be R similar to 3, which differs from the value R similar to 1.3 predicted by the fragmentation model.
