M. Oja et L. Nystrom, EVALUATION OF FILTRATION TESTS WITH GRADUAL PRESSURE INCREASE AND SEDIMENTATION, Filtration & separation, 33(4), 1996, pp. 335-337
The filtration data obtained from pressure filtration experiments with
a gradual pressure increase have been interpreted by a data evaluatio
n program, which takes into consideration the pressure drop in the fil
ter medium and the sedimentation of the slurry. The structures of the
filter cakes were surveyed by additional particle size measurements. T
he results showed that the specific filtration resistance and its pres
sure dependence can be obtained in a single filtration test with a gra
dual increase in pressure, compared with several tests at different co
nstant pressures.
