W. Grimm et al., ELECTROCARDIOGRAPHIC DIFFERENTIAL-DIAGNOS IS OF TACHYCARDIAS .1. TACHYCARDIAS WITH NARROW QRS COMPLEX, Herz, Kreislauf, 28(4), 1996, pp. 109-117
The possibility of curative therapy of certain supraventricular tachyc
ardias with catheter ablation has increased the significance of the el
ectrocardiographic differential diagnosis of tachycardias with a narro
w QRS complex in the last few years. The careful analysis of the 12-le
ad standard-ECG using the ECG criteria described in the present review
leads to the correct diagnosis of 70-80% of all tachycardias with a n
arrow QRS complex. The remaining 20-30% of tachycardias with a narrow
QRS complex can, if necessary, further be differentiated with an elect
rophysiologic study.
