Abstract
Preparation, procedures, fluid therapy, and nursing care are discussed in this overview of neonatal resuscitation. This paper outlines an ap proach to neonatal resuscitation that is relatively straightforward an d inexpensive, and which can be shared with producers, providing rewar ding results. The veterinarian is instrumental as an educator in the p rocess of preparing for the birth, especially since most deliveries ar e attended by the producer rather than the veterinarian. A routine set of procedures should be established for all carves with assisted deli very. With a well informed producer, many calves can be saved.
