The title compound hydro-6,7-dimethoxy-1-methyl-1-isoquinolinylmethyl acetate, C17H23NO5] is a key chiral intermediate in the synthesis of s ome natural isoquinoline derivatives with a Cl quaternary centre, This diacetyl derivative has been proposed as a stable intermediate storag e compound, The absolute structure has been verified.
