Z. Vancikova et al., CHARACTERIZATION OF HUMAN, MOUSE AND RABBIT ANTIGLIADIN ANTIBODIES BYELISA AND WESTERN BLOTTING, Folia microbiologica, 40(6), 1995, pp. 659-664
Monoclonal, hyperimmune rabbit and human serum anti-gliadin antibodies
were analyzed by ELISA and immunoblotting techniques. In Western blot
ting the difference in reactivity between monoclonal and human antibod
ies was quantitative rather than qualitative. Rabbit antisera differed
in reactivity according to the protein used for immunization. The rab
bits immunized by the peptic-tryptic pancreatic digest of gliadin reac
ted similarly to the patients. In ELISA, significantly higher reactivi
ty with crude, A-, glyc-gli, alpha-, beta- and omega-gliadins was foun
d in the patients' sera than in controls.
