Abstract
Diffusion coefficients for the solute phenol blue in several binary li quid solvent mixtures were measured at 298 K. The solvents were binary mixtures of cyclohexane + acetone, cyclohexane + benzophenone, and cy clohexane + toluene. Certain experiments were compromised because phen ol blue strongly adsorbed on stainless steel when the solvent was cycl ohexane-rich. In contrast, high local compositions of acetone, benzoph enone, or toluene around the solute prevented solute adsorption during the experiment.
