Abstract
Ideal conditions to biotransformation of solid waste from cassava star ch production (cassava bagasse) by Rhizopus oryzae 28627 in solid stat e fermentation were determined. These conditions were : temperature, 2 8-32 degrees C;inoculation rate, 10(5) spores/g dry bagasse; initial m oisture, 70%; C/N, 4.7-14;initial pH, 5.7-6.4. Mould growth evaluated trough synthesized real protein determination showed that its content goes from 1.67 g/100 g dry bagasse when inoculation to 12 g/100 g dry bagasse after 24 h of fermentation. Yield coefficient beteween consume d starch and synthesized protein was about 0.50.
