Hypertrophic osteopathy also called acropachia as well, is a disease i
n bones, characterized by symmetrically periosteal osteophytes usually
in extremities and almost associated with chronic lesions of the lung
s. A case of a four year old West Highland bitch will be discussed, wh
ich became clinically apparent with lameness and painful bilateral sym
metrical swellings of femur and tibia as well as respiratory symptoms.
During post mortem examination a multiple spindle cell sarcoma was di
agnosed.
