Temperature dependences of proton chemical shifts for ethidium bromide
in aqueous solution with tetradeoxyribonucleotide 5'-d(GpCpGpC) were
studied by 500-MHz pulse NMR spectrometry. Calculation of the thermody
namic parameters of complexation yielded estimates for contributions o
f reactions giving rise to different types of complexes under complex
equilibrium conditions. Gibbs energies, enthalpies, and entropies were
determined for the formation of 1:1, 2:1, 1:2, and 2:2 complexes betw
een EthBr and GCGC.
