Abstract
An emission spectrum of the water molecule at a temperature of 1550 de grees C has been recorded in the range from 373 to 933 cm(-1). More th an 4000 pure rotational lines were observed with the strongest belongi ng to the ground state (000) and the first excited bending vibrational level (010). Transitions involving rotational quantum numbers J and K -a significantly higher than previously recorded have been assigned. ( C) 1996 Academic Press, Inc.
