Ib. Elkina et al., SEPARATION AND CONCENTRATION OF SALT-SOLUTIONS BY MEMBRANE DISTILLATION WITH A GAS SLIT, Colloid journal of the Russian Academy of Sciences, 57(3), 1995, pp. 299-302
Studies on desalination and concentration of sea water and model solut
ions were conducted on a flow-type laboratory plant for membrane disti
llation with a gas slit. The latter was shown to be efficient enough f
or separation and deep concentration of various salt solutions. The se
lectivity of separation is virtually independent of the temperature of
the process and the rates of the separated flows and is slightly depe
ndent on the concentration of the solutions under separation. The expe
riments were conducted with commercial Vladipor-2 microfiltration memb
ranes.
