Abstract
Reaction of Au(NPm)(2)X (1) with an oxidizing agent such as copper dic hloride or iodine yields Au(NPm)X [NPm = (C6H5)(2)PCH2N(C6H5)(2)]; com pounds 2 (X = Cl) and 3 (X = I) were isolated as microcrystals and cha racterized by elemental analysis, IR, NMR and mass spectroscopy, and t he mechanism of their formation was studied by P-31 NMR and electroche mical techniques.
