The regiochemistry of the reaction of ketocarbenoid with phenyl isocya
nate, phenyl isothiocyanate, and phenyl isoselenocyanate was studied a
nd relative reactivity of these heteromultiple compounds was determine
d by competitive reactions. The order of the reactivity and the regio-
selectivity in the reactions are explained by molecular orbital calcul
ation.
