The excess molar enthalpies H-m(E) of butylamine + diethyl ether, +dip
ropyl ether, +bis(1-methylethyl) ether, +dibutyl ether, +1,1-dimethyle
thyl methyl ether, +1,1-dimethylpropyl methyl ether, +tetrahydrofuran,
+tetrahydropyran, and +1,4-dioxane have been measured over the whole
composition range at 298.15 K in order to investigate interactions bet
ween butylamine and the three classes of ethers, namely straight chain
, branched chain, and cyclic. All the mixtures show endothermic behavi
or. The results reported here are compared to H-m(E) results for relat
ed systems involving dibutylamine published recently by our group. The
experimental results have been correlated using the NRTL and UNIQUAC
equations.
