M. Damore et Ms. Sarto, SIMULATION-MODELS OF A DISSIPATIVE TRANSMISSION-LINE ABOVE A LOSSY GROUND FOR A WIDE-FREQUENCY RANGE .1. SINGLE CONDUCTOR CONFIGURATION, IEEE transactions on electromagnetic compatibility, 38(2), 1996, pp. 127-138
The simulation model of asingle conductor dissipative line above a los
sy ground, based on the exact formulation of the Maxwell equations, is
proposed for a wide frequency range, The transmission-line (TL) and f
ast-wave (FW) propagation constants of the line are computed by solvin
g the modal equation coming from the continuity of the tangential comp
onent of the electric field at the air-wire interface, Three different
expressions of the distributed line impedance and admittance are sugg
ested with reference to different definitions of the line voltage, Mor
eover, logarithmic approximations of the Sommerfeld integrals are prop
osed in order to obtain an easy-to-implement formulation of the simula
tion models for use in computer codes, Comparisons between the propose
d models and the Carson approach are carried out with reference to asi
ngle conductor line above a lossy earth, considering different values
of the line geometrical parameters and ground conductivity and permitt
ivity.
