Abstract
A calorimeter for the determination of the radial component of energy deposition has been developed and applied to measurements on 20 cm dia meter lead and bismuth targets bombarded by 0.8, 1.0, and 1.2 GeV prot ons. The experimental parameters of the spatial component have been es timated.
