Abstract
Both 3,3'- and 4,4'-dibromo-2,2'-bithiophenes, through bromine-lithium exchange with butyllithium followed by reaction with a dialkyl disulf ide (Me(2)S(2) or Bu(2)S(2)), have been converted into the correspondi ng bis(alkylsulfanyl) derivatives.
