REACTION OF 2-BENZOYL-1,2-DIHYDROISOQUINOLINE-1-CARBONITRILE TETRAFLUOROBORATE SALT WITH 2-ARYLMETHYLIDENEINDAN-1-ONES AND 2-ARYLMETHYLIDENE-1-TETRALONES - REGIO-CHEMISTRY AND STEREO-CHEMISTRY OF THE REACTION

The reaction between the title compounds produces [4+2]spirocycloadduc ts; the regio- and stereo-chemistry of the reaction has been deduced f rom H-1 NMR data and the determination of the X-ray crystal structure of the product derived from acid treatment of one cycloadduct.
