Abstract
We give results for nonlinear one-ports regarding the relationship bet ween negative differential resistance at a particular de operating poi nt and the stability of that operating point. In particular, we illust rate that the presence of negative differential resistance does not ne cessarily imply instability for any positive resistive port terminatio n but that it does imply instability for either an open-circuit or a s hort-circuit termination.
