Abstract
Phenylsulfinic acid C6H5SO2H crystallizes in the orthorombic space gro up Pna21, a = 734.3(4), b = 579.9(5), c = 1476.5(9) pm. With four form ula units per unit cell. The configuration of the sulfur atom is pyram idal. The molecules form infinite chains via strong hydrogen bonds. Th e Raman spectra of C6H5SO2H and C6H5SOCl are reported and discussed.
