Abstract
The influence of maleic anhydride (MAN) on the molecular mass of atact ic polypropylene in the functionalization reaction initiated by organi c peroxide was studied. It was found that under certain reaction condi tions MAN takes part in the radical degradation of polypropylene after it is grafted. From the results of the study, a mechanism of degradat ion reaction was suggested.
