Abstract
The electrochemical behaviour of Ir oxide films, grown in neutral PBS
saline solution has been examined in relation to their use as neural s
timulating electrodes. It is shown that, if adequate growing condition
s are chosen, this material is suitable for use as a neural prosthesis
, since it is able to pass high values of charge density in a very rev
ersible way, therefore without generating new products to the solution
.
