S. Mezghani et al., THERMALLY STIMULATED CURRENT CHANGES OF IRRADIATED SKIN, Journal of materials science. Materials in medicine, 7(5), 1996, pp. 285-289
Radiation effects on collagen and skin have been characterized by mean
s of thermally stimulated current (TSC) spectroscopy. X-rays, beta-ray
s and UV radiation have similar effects on the molecular mobility of d
ermal collagen and skin. They induce a decrease of intra and intermole
cular mobility. The restriction of molecular movement can be explained
by an increase of collagen cross-links.
