The current status of research on coherent phenomena in multiple light
scattering from disordered systems is reviewed. The coherent light ba
ckscattering, temporal and spatial correlations of intensity of light
propagating through a randomly inhomogeneous medium, and coherent effe
cts due to the multiple scattering from very rough surfaces are consid
ered. The present-day theories as well as methods and results of exper
imental studies are outlined. Almost all theoretical predictions are f
ound to be illustrated well by respective experimental data.
