Abstract
The paper concerns the concept of gestalt in the framework of neuronal mechanisms, Two hypotheses are discussed: 1) hierarchy of neurons (gn ostic units), 2) synchronization of neurons, It is concluded that gest alt is based on hierarchial vectorial organization of neurons. The hig h frequency oscillations in gamma range (40-200 Hz) are of intrinsic o rigin. They are operating as amplifiers of synaptic inputs of neurons involved in gestalt representation.
