Abstract
[Ni5S(SBu(t))(5)](-), an unprecedented pentanuclear sulfide thiolate c luster anion of fivefold symmetry containing a regularly shaped pentag onal nickel frame capped by a mu(5) sulfide ion, and [Ni3S(SBu(t))(3)( CN)(3)](2-), a related complex of threefold symmetry with additional c yanide ligands, are described.
