Abstract
Treatment of tungsten-eta(1)-7-oxabicyclo[2.2.1]heptadiene and -eta(1) -7-oxabicyclo[2.2.1]heptene with CF3SO3H leads to atypical carbon-carb on bond scission and deoxygenation; the reaction intermediates in the bond scission involves a tungsten-eta(1)-2-hydrofurylium cation.
