Abstract
Over the past few years important changes have occurred in the organiz ation and financing of mental health services in the UK. These develop ments are described from a structural and financial perspective and ho w these changes have created a system that replicates many of the poli cy mistakes that have been evident in the US mental health system is a nalysed.
